Program Requirements

A baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) from an NLNAC and/or CCNE accredited nursing program.

RN license to practice in the US at the time of application, a Connecticut RN license will be required upon admission.

Minimum of 2 years critical care experience and cannot be over 5 years old for consideration. Acceptable critical care experience includes: ICU, Cardio-Thoracic ICU, Neuro ICU, Trauma ICU. May be considered if in a pediatric specific hospital: Pediatric ICU. May be considered if in level I facility: Neonatal ICU, Emergency Room. The following experience is NOT accepted: Telemetry, Cath Lab, Operating Room, Post Anesthesia Care Unit.

Cumulative undergraduate GPA of 3.0

Certifications: BCLS (Basic Cardiac Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), CRNA Educational Requirements.

Prerequisites: General or Inorganic Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Anatomy, Physiology, Microbiology, and Statistics. None of the required prerequisites can be over ten years old at the time of application.
