Job Description

This full-time CRNA position at Rush University Medical Center offers the opportunity to practice in one of the nation’s top academic medical centers, located in downtown Chicago. The role provides flexible scheduling, competitive compensation, sign-on bonuses, and the chance to work closely with anesthesiologists and SRNAs in both clinical and educational settings. As part of an elite academic health system, you will support a wide range of surgical services while contributing to the education of future CRNAs in a highly respected program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care across diverse inpatient and outpatient surgical settings.
  • Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations, administer anesthesia, and oversee post-anesthesia care.
  • Function as faculty and supervise student registered nurse anesthetists (SRNAs).
  • Collaborate with anesthesiologists under a medical direction model to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Participate in academic activities, including teaching, mentoring, and attending educational sessions.

Compensation & Schedule

  • Salary Range: $250,000–$350,000
  • Sign-On Bonus: Available for eligible candidates
  • Flexible shifts: 8-, 10-, and 12-hour options
  • Call: Minimal; no in-house call and paid pager carry / call-ins
  • Paid Time Off: 208 hours per year plus 7 paid holidays
  • Retirement: 100% match up to 6% for traditional retirement fund; 457(b) available
  • Benefits include medical, dental, vision, FSA/HSA, life insurance, disability, and tuition reimbursement
  • Continuing Education: $2,000 annually plus one week of CME time; $1,500 every three years for licenses/certifications
  • Fertility Benefits: Up to $50,000 lifetime maximum
  • SRNA Grant Program and access to Illinois Nurse Educator Loan Repayment ($5,000/year)

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Anesthesia Program
  • Current Illinois RN/APN license
  • CRNA certification in good standing
  • BLS and ACLS certification required
