Job Description
VCU Health System Authority is seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join its academic medical center providing Level I Trauma services to the greater Richmond metropolitan area. CRNAs deliver anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in a fast-paced, high-acuity hospital environment.
Practice Environment
VCU Health is a large academic health system and Level I Trauma Center serving diverse patient populations. CRNAs practice in collaboration with multidisciplinary surgical and anesthesia teams while supporting the institution’s teaching and academic mission.
Clinical Scope
- Anesthesia care for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures
- Care of patients across all age groups
- Practice within a high-acuity academic and trauma environment
Schedule & Call
- Full-time W-2 hospital employee position
- All shifts required
- Call requirements: To be determined
- Start date: Immediate
Qualifications
- Current Virginia RN license
- Current Virginia CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification required
- Master’s degree in Nursing from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Completion of MSN or higher within six months of hire if currently within one semester of graduation
- Completion of 40 CEUs every two years
- New graduates accepted
Experience
- No prior experience required
- Academic healthcare experience preferred
- One year of specialty practice experience preferred
Physical & Professional Requirements
- Ability to lift 50–100 lbs
- Frequent walking, reaching, and repetitive movement
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Ability to function in a fast-paced, high-demand clinical environment
