Job Description

Brigham and Women’s Hospital is seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join its established and growing Anesthesia Care Team. CRNAs provide comprehensive anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures in one of the nation’s leading academic medical centers.

Practice Environment

CRNAs practice within a collaborative Anesthesia Care Team model across 47 operating rooms, Labor & Delivery, and multiple non-OR anesthesia locations including radiology and procedural areas. The department supports teaching, professional development, and optional participation in quality improvement, academics, and clinical research.

Case Mix & Clinical Scope

  • General surgery
  • Orthopedic surgery
  • Thoracic anesthesia
  • Neurosurgery
  • Major vascular cases
  • Trauma anesthesia
  • Obstetric anesthesia
  • Out-of-OR anesthesia locations
  • No pediatric anesthesia

Schedule & Call

  • Full-time W-2 position
  • Flexible scheduling options
  • No weekends
  • No holidays
  • No routine on-call requirement
  • Start date: 05/01/2026

Clinical Responsibilities

  • Pre-anesthesia assessments and anesthetic care planning
  • Administration of general, regional, and monitored anesthesia care
  • Airway management and ventilatory support
  • Invasive and non-invasive monitoring
  • Central venous and arterial catheter placement
  • Acute pain management and post-anesthesia care
  • Participation in SRNA clinical education and supervision

Compensation & Benefits

  • Employment model: W-2 hospital employee
  • Starting salary: $240,000+
  • Malpractice insurance provided
  • Overtime paid at time-and-a-half for hours over 40
  • Generous education allowance for CME and professional development

Candidate Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program (Master’s required)
  • NBCRNA certification required (exam-in-process acceptable)
  • Current BLS and ACLS certification
  • Eligible for Massachusetts licensure
  • New graduates welcome
