Job Description

Fairbanks Memorial Hospital, part of Foundation Health Partners, is seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join its experienced anesthesia team in Fairbanks, Alaska. This highly sought-after opportunity offers exceptional compensation, a unique three-weeks-on/two-weeks-off schedule, and the chance to practice a broad scope of anesthesia while enjoying one of the most unique lifestyles in the country.

CRNAs work within a collaborative anesthesia care team providing coverage for a wide variety of bread-and-butter surgical cases including general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, podiatry, healthy pediatrics, and GI procedures. High-acuity cases are less common, allowing providers to maintain a broad skillset without the demands of a trauma-heavy environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for general surgery, orthopedic, OB/GYN, ENT, podiatry, pediatric, and GI procedures
• Perform comprehensive preoperative assessments and anesthesia planning
• Manage patients throughout all phases of anesthesia care and recovery
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative teams
• Participate in operating room and procedural anesthesia coverage assignments
• Deliver safe, patient-centered care within a rural referral health system

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual compensation ranging from $315,000 – $378,000 based on experience
• $40,000 sign-on bonus
• $15,000 annual retention bonus following sign-on commitment period

Job Requirements

• Current NBCRNA certification or eligibility required
• Current ACLS certification required
• Current PALS certification required
• New graduates encouraged to apply
• Strong commitment to team-based patient care
• Ability to thrive in a rural referral center environment

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time W-2 hospital-employed position
• Unique three-weeks-on, two-weeks-off schedule
• Approximately 20 weeks off per year
• Primarily 12-hour shifts, often ending earlier
• Collaborative anesthesia care team model
• 5 anesthesiologists and a growing team of 12 CRNAs
• 4-5 operating rooms running daily plus OB or GI procedural coverage
• No cardiac or craniotomy cases
• Broad bread-and-butter anesthesia practice with excellent clinical variety
