Job Description

A small hospital in Southern Illinois is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a long-term locum tenens assignment beginning March 1. This role offers an autonomous practice environment where CRNAs function independently and manage their own cases.

The schedule consists of standard daytime coverage with flexibility to work either 8-hour or 10-hour shifts. The clinical scope includes general surgery, orthopedic procedures, endoscopy, podiatry, and sedation for pain management cases. Proficiency in regional anesthesia techniques is required for this position.

This opportunity is structured as a 1099 locum engagement with malpractice insurance provided. The facility supports independent CRNA practice within a close-knit, low-volume hospital setting, making it well suited for clinicians who prefer consistency, autonomy, and long-term stability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver independent anesthesia services across multiple surgical specialties
  • Administer regional anesthesia blocks as part of routine case coverage
  • Provide safe perioperative care for general, orthopedic, endoscopy, and podiatry cases
  • Maintain clinical standards in a small hospital environment

Compensation & Benefits

Job Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Active NBCRNA certification required
  • Current ACLS certification
  • PALS certification preferred or negotiable
  • Prior experience required; new graduates not eligible
