Job Description
We are seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join the anesthesia team at MercyOne Des Moines Medical Center. This is an immediate opening offering a highly competitive compensation package, an independent practice model, and the opportunity to work within a large, well-supported Level II Trauma Center. CRNAs at this site are valued members of the anesthesia care team and practice across a diverse and high-acuity case mix while maintaining a sustainable work-life balance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive anesthesia care across a wide range of surgical specialties
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop anesthesia care plans
- Administer general, regional, spinal, and epidural anesthesia
- Manage airways and provide intraoperative and postoperative patient monitoring
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists, surgeons, and perioperative staff
- Participate in first-call coverage on a rotating basis with guaranteed post-call day off
Clinical Practice & Case Mix
- Level II Trauma Center with 800+ licensed beds
- Over 10,000 surgical cases and 2,500+ OB deliveries annually
- Obstetric anesthesia (frequent)
- Pediatric, neuro, trauma, orthopedic, and general anesthesia
- Opportunities to support affiliated surgery centers
Compensation & Benefits
- Minimum annual compensation of $370,000+
- Up to $50,000 sign-on bonus for qualified candidates
- W-2 employment with comprehensive benefits package
- 401(k) with $1.20 match for every dollar up to 6%
- 4–6 weeks PTO annually plus generous sick leave

Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position with flexible scheduling options
- First call approximately every 12th night with guaranteed day off after
- No second call responsibilities
- Practice across MercyOne Des Moines and MercyOne West Des Moines Medical Center
Job Requirements
- Active or eligible Iowa CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications
- New graduates welcome
