Job Description

The University of Kansas Health System is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its anesthesia team as a dedicated Nocturnist. This role is based at a Level I Trauma Center and is designed for CRNAs who prefer overnight work with a structured, predictable schedule and enhanced compensation.

This nocturnist position consists of three consecutive 12-hour in-house night shifts per week. Shifts rotate between Sunday–Monday–Tuesday and Wednesday–Thursday–Friday schedules, providing extended stretches of time off. Additional shifts may be available for CRNAs who wish to increase their earnings.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for a broad range of surgical and trauma cases during overnight hours
• Practice within a medically directed anesthesia care team model
• Administer induction agents and manage anesthetic plans under anesthesiologist supervision
• Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation
• Collaborate with surgical, nursing, and anesthesia colleagues in a high-acuity environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Competitive W-2 base compensation
• $45,000 annual nocturnist stipend in addition to base pay
