Job Description

Northeastern Vermont Regional Hospital (NVRH) is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its hospital-employed, all-CRNA anesthesia team in St. Johnsbury, Vermont. This independent practice model offers autonomy, collaborative support, and a broad case mix within a rural Critical Access Hospital setting.

CRNAs practice without medical direction and work closely with a highly engaged surgical and medical staff, delivering comprehensive anesthesia care to patients ranging from 12 months of age through geriatrics.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia services across inpatient and outpatient surgical settings
  • Manage diverse case mix including General Surgery, Orthopedics, OB/GYN with labor analgesia, Urology, ENT, Podiatry, Endoscopy/GI, Dental, and Ophthalmology
  • Perform regional anesthesia techniques and maintain airway expertise
  • Insert arterial lines, central lines, epidurals, and administer spinals as clinically indicated
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives, peer review, and departmental operations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support safe, patient-centered care

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual salary range: $320,000–$350,000

Job Requirements

  • Graduate of a COA-accredited Nurse Anesthesia program
  • Current NBCRNA certification (or negotiable if in examination process)
  • Vermont APRN license or eligibility
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Current DEA registration
  • Must reside within 30 minutes of the hospital for call response
  • New graduates welcome to apply

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time W-2 hospital-employed position
  • Independent CRNA practice model (no medical direction)
  • First call frequency varies with guaranteed post-call day off
  • No second call requirement
  • Broad case exposure in a 6-CRNA team environment
  • Immediate start available
