Job Description

Mary Washington Healthcare (MWHC) in Fredericksburg, VA, is seeking experienced and dedicated Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join its growing anesthesia team. This is an exciting time to join the organization, as MWHC launches its new Anesthesiology Residency Program in July 2025 — offering CRNAs the opportunity to work in a forward-thinking, physician-led environment focused on excellence, education, and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive pre-anesthetic assessments and obtain informed consent.
• Develop and implement individualized anesthesia care plans.
• Administer general, regional, local, and sedation anesthesia techniques.
• Perform advanced regional techniques, including epidurals and nerve blocks.
• Monitor patients throughout procedures, ensuring safety and stability.
• Provide postoperative pain management and safe emergence from anesthesia.
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, residents, and perioperative teams.
• Participate in quality improvement, safety, and education initiatives.

Job Requirements

• Master’s or doctoral degree in nurse anesthesia from an accredited program
• Current CRNA certification from the NBCRNA
• Active RN and APRN licensure in Virginia (or ability to obtain)
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience in anesthesia and perioperative care preferred
• Strong teamwork, communication, and clinical skills
