Job Description
Geisinger Wyoming Valley Hospital in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its anesthesia team. This W-2 hospital-employed position offers newly implemented compensation with a $275,000 starting salary and a sign-on bonus of up to $125,000.
CRNAs provide anesthesia care for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures while working within a medically directed model under the supervision of anesthesiologists. The role includes patient evaluation, anesthesia administration, and postoperative follow-up in a collaborative hospital environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive preoperative evaluations including chart review and patient assessment
- Select anesthesia medications and administer anesthetic agents
- Induce and maintain anesthesia during surgical and diagnostic procedures
- Monitor patients and adjust medications based on physiologic response
- Interpret hemodynamic data and maintain patient stability during procedures
- Respond to emergencies and airway management situations
- Document anesthesia care accurately within the EMR
- Coordinate care with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and ancillary staff
- Serve as a mentor or preceptor for residents, students, and clinical staff

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Pennsylvania state license required
- NBCRNA certification or eligibility
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications
- New graduates welcome
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time W-2 hospital-employed position
- Medically directed anesthesia model
- No first call responsibilities
- Second call approximately every sixth night
- Practice limited to one hospital facility
- Teaching hospital environment with physician residency and CRNA training programs
