Job Description
Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center in Duluth is seeking full-time CRNAs to join a large, collaborative anesthesia team serving multiple facilities, including a brand-new Level I Trauma Center opened in 2023. This medically directed practice offers exposure to a broad range of complex surgical cases, excellent compensation, and significant bonuses—making it one of Minnesota’s strongest CRNA opportunities. Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-quality anesthesia care across multiple Essentia Health surgical locations
- Perform preoperative assessments and develop individualized anesthesia plans
- Administer anesthesia for a wide variety of surgical specialties
- Monitor patients intraoperatively and manage postoperative recovery needs
- Collaborate within a medically directed model with 45+ CRNAs and 15+ anesthesiologists
- Participate in trauma center care, high-acuity cases, and high-volume OR environments
Compensation & Benefits
- W-2 employment
- $290,000–$350,000 annual compensation potential
- $100,000 bonus package
- 12-month student stipend available for eligible applicants
- Relocation reimbursement

- Work across several sites including newly opened Level I Trauma Center
Job Requirements
- Master’s or Doctorate from an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Current or eligible Minnesota CRNA license
- BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- NBCRNA certification, or new graduate eligible—must pass exam within 12 months
- Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process
Schedule & Work Environment
- Work across multiple Essentia facilities, including trauma and outpatient locations
- Cases include all specialties except transplants and pediatric hearts
- FIRST and SECOND call frequency varies
- Mix of tertiary, regional, and outpatient environments
