Job Description

Freeman Health System is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join its obstetric anesthesia team in Joplin, Missouri. This full-time W-2 position is focused exclusively on Labor & Delivery coverage and offers a highly structured schedule designed to support work-life balance while maintaining clinical consistency.

The role consists of 24-hour in-house OB coverage within a Level II trauma center. CRNAs in this position work approximately seven 24-hour shifts over a three-week period, followed by a full week off. This predictable rotation provides significant time away from clinical duties while maintaining full-time employment status.

You will join a dedicated team of CRNAs providing anesthesia services solely for the Labor & Delivery unit, which averages approximately 1,800–2,000 deliveries annually. The practice model promotes CRNA autonomy while operating within a supportive, medically supervised framework.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide anesthesia care for obstetric patients on the Labor & Delivery unit
  • Administer and manage neuraxial anesthesia and OB-related anesthetic services
  • Deliver continuous in-house coverage during assigned 24-hour shifts
  • Collaborate with obstetricians, nursing staff, and anesthesia colleagues
  • Ensure safe, efficient anesthesia care for laboring and operative OB patients

Compensation & Benefits

  • Base salary of $250,000
  • $80,000 educational or start bonus
  • 14–16 weeks off annually based on shift rotation

Job Requirements

  • NBCRNA certification
  • Active Missouri CRNA license or eligibility
  • ACLS and PALS certification required
  • New graduates are welcome to apply
