Job Description

SSM Health is hiring Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join the anesthesia team at SSM Health Saint Louis University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. This full-time W-2 opportunity is based within an academic medical center that supports advanced clinical care, education, and research. New and recent graduates are welcome to apply.

The position is part of the SLUCare Anesthesiology department, which practices in a Level I trauma center with a diverse and high-acuity case mix. The department is well staffed with experienced anesthesiologists and anesthetists, providing a structured team-based environment and consistent clinical support.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform pre-operative evaluations and prepare patients for anesthesia
  • Administer anesthesia under anesthesiologist direction and monitor patients throughout procedures
  • Maintain airway management, hemodynamic stability, and life support functions
  • Provide post-anesthesia care and respond to changes in patient condition
  • Document anesthesia care and ensure compliance with safety and infection control standards

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time schedule with four 10-hour shifts
  • Monday through Friday, 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
  • Alternating weekly scheduled day off
  • No call responsibilities
  • Academic medical center environment with structured workflows

Case Mix

  • General surgery
  • Trauma and emergency cases
  • Neurosurgical and spine procedures
  • Cardiothoracic and vascular cases
  • Healthy pediatric and adult surgical cases

Job Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited CRNA program
  • Eligibility for Missouri licensure
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications
  • Ability to function in a team-based academic practice
  • Prior experience preferred but not required
