Job Description
Geisinger Healthplex State College is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia care for surgical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures under the general supervision of an anesthesiologist. The CRNA is responsible for preoperative evaluation, intraoperative management, and postoperative follow-up while serving as a patient advocate and clinical liaison among patients, families, and the care team.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform thorough pre-anesthesia assessments including chart review and patient evaluation
- Select anesthetic and emergency medications appropriate to patient condition and procedure
- Induce, maintain, and emerge patients from anesthesia while adjusting medications as needed
- Interpret hemodynamic waveforms and equipment status and take corrective actions to maintain stability
- Prepare the OR with required equipment, monitors, and medications and complete diagnostic equipment checks
- Coordinate with nursing, ancillary staff, and physicians to ensure safe patient care and positioning
- Respond to codes and manage the airway when needed
- Chart accurately, completely, and efficiently in the EMR
- Transport patients safely and provide sign-out to the receiving team
- Serve as a mentor/preceptor to peers, staff, residents, students, nurses, and ancillary staff
Schedule & Work Environment
- Full-time position
- Monday–Friday, 8-hour shifts
- No first call required
- Second call listed as every sixth night
- Hospital-employed role in a clinical environment
Compensation & Benefits
- Employment model: W-2
- Listed starting salary: $270,000 (posting also references $275,000 starting salary)
- Sign-on bonus: posting highlights a $125,000 sign-on; salary section lists $50,000

- Time-and-a-half pay for hours greater than 40 in a week

Job Requirements
- Active Pennsylvania RN/CRNA licensure (or eligibility as applicable)
- NBCRNA certification required (exam-in-process acceptable)
- ACLS required
- PALS required
- New graduates accepted
- 2 years of CRNA experience preferred
