Job Description
An Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center in Newark, Ohio is seeking an independent CRNA to provide anesthesia for cataract and corneal procedures. This is a low-acuity, fast-moving environment ideal for experienced CRNAs comfortable working autonomously.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for ophthalmologic procedures
- Manage light sedation—primarily PO Valium
- Administer small-dose IV sedation as needed (1–2 mg Versed)
- Rare Diprivan administration for retrobulbar blocks performed by ophthalmologist
- Ensure patient safety and monitoring throughout procedures
Compensation & Benefits
- 1099 pay structure
- $175 per hour
- 8-hour daily minimum ($1,400 guaranteed)
- Malpractice insurance provided
Job Requirements
- Active CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification
- Ability to practice independently—no supervision
- Experience in ophthalmology cases preferred
- Immediate start availability
Schedule & Work Environment
- PRN, weekday-based schedule
- No call, no weekends, no holidays
- ASC setting focused on cataracts and corneal procedures
