Job Description

An Ophthalmology Ambulatory Surgery Center in Newark, Ohio is seeking an independent CRNA to provide anesthesia for cataract and corneal procedures. This is a low-acuity, fast-moving environment ideal for experienced CRNAs comfortable working autonomously.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for ophthalmologic procedures
• Manage light sedation—primarily PO Valium
• Administer small-dose IV sedation as needed (1–2 mg Versed)
• Rare Diprivan administration for retrobulbar blocks performed by ophthalmologist
• Ensure patient safety and monitoring throughout procedures

Compensation & Benefits

• 1099 pay structure
• $175 per hour
• 8-hour daily minimum ($1,400 guaranteed)
• Malpractice insurance provided

Job Requirements

• Active CRNA license
• NBCRNA certification
• Ability to practice independently—no supervision
• Experience in ophthalmology cases preferred
• Immediate start availability

Schedule & Work Environment

• PRN, weekday-based schedule
• No call, no weekends, no holidays
• ASC setting focused on cataracts and corneal procedures
