Job Description
Anesthesia Associates of New Mexico is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to join an independent anesthesia practice at Santa Fe Presbyterian Hospital. This is a full-time role designed for CRNAs who want to practice at the top of their license in a true independent model with call responsibilities and strong earning potential.
The position offers a broad hospital-based case mix and is best suited for clinicians comfortable managing their own anesthetics, responding to call, and handling OB and pediatric cases. Providers will function without medical direction and are expected to work autonomously while collaborating with the broader perioperative team.
Clinical Responsibilities
- Provide independent anesthesia services in a hospital-based setting
- Manage induction, maintenance, and emergence without medical direction
- Perform regional anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks
- Provide obstetric anesthesia, including epidurals
- Deliver anesthesia care for pediatric and adult patients
- Participate in call coverage as part of the anesthesia team
- Complete all required anesthesia documentation and quality standards
Case Mix & Practice Scope
- Bread-and-butter general anesthesia cases
- Obstetric anesthesia (epidurals required)
- Pediatric anesthesia
- Orthopedic procedures
- Regional anesthesia and nerve blocks
Schedule & Call Structure
- Full-time position with immediate start availability
- Independent call-taking CRNA role
- First and second call frequency varies
- Post-call days off available at times
- Hospital-based coverage model
Compensation & Practice Details
- Annual earning potential: $400,000–$500,000
- $225 per hour compensation model
- $20,000 sign-on bonus
- 1099 independent contractor position
- W-2 option available if preferred
- Participation in the New Mexico Patient Compensation Fund required
Job Requirements
- Active New Mexico CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification required
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
- Proficiency with regional anesthesia and nerve blocks
- Comfort managing OB and pediatric anesthesia
- New graduates not accepted for this role
