Job Description

MountainView Regional Medical Center in Las Cruces, New Mexico is recruiting full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists for an independent practice model under New Mexico’s SB 78. This is a rare opportunity to practice fully independently while remaining supported by experienced physician anesthesiologists and a highly collaborative CRNA team. New graduates are welcome and benefit from strong mentorship, teaching, and proctoring within a trusted clinical environment.

Practice Environment

This is a hospital-employed CRNA role practicing independently without medical direction. CRNAs work at the top of their license with peer-level consultation available from anesthesiologists who run their own rooms. The department includes a large, experienced CRNA team and supports professional growth across a high-acuity surgical service line.

Case Mix & Anesthesia Scope

• Orthopedic spine and neurosurgical spine cases
• Intracranial neurosurgery
• Bariatric and colorectal surgery
• ENT, urology, general surgery, GYN, and GI
• Pediatric dental cases (limited)
• Trauma anesthesia
• Strong ultrasound-guided regional anesthesia program
• OB anesthesia covered by a dedicated team with future opportunities possible

Schedule & Workload

• Full-time or PRN options available
• Flexible shifts: 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts
• 26-week scheduling option
• Eight weeks off annually
• First and second call negotiable
• Post-call day off usually provided

Clinical Responsibilities

• Independent delivery of anesthesia care
• Placement of arterial lines, central lines, epidurals, spinals, and regional blocks
• Management of high-acuity surgical and trauma cases
• Preoperative assessment and anesthesia care planning
• Intraoperative management and postoperative handoff
• Participation in mentoring and peer collaboration

Compensation & Employment Structure

• Compensation range: $400,000–$425,000+
• Packages vary by W-2 vs 1099 arrangement
• Sign-on bonus included

Candidate Requirements

• Active New Mexico CRNA license required or ability to obtain
• NBCRNA certification required or in examination process
