Job Description

Matagorda Regional Medical Center in Bay City, Texas is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a CRNA-owned, CRNA-only practice providing full-scope anesthesia care. This is a rare opportunity for an independent CRNA who wants strong autonomy, a broad case mix, and an outstanding work-life balance in a single-hospital setting.

The schedule follows a 3-weeks-on / 1-week-off rotation, creating approximately 13 weeks off annually. Most providers average under 30 hours per week, with post-call days off most days. Call is taken from home with no in-house call, and the position averages seven total call days per month.

The practice covers general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, podiatry, ENT, and endoscopy procedures. OB volume is modest, averaging fewer than 30 deliveries per month. This role begins May 4, 2026, and is offered as a 1099 position with a set annual compensation of $340,000.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent anesthesia care in a CRNA-only practice model
  • Deliver full-scope anesthesia services for general surgery, OB/GYN, orthopedics, ENT, podiatry, and endoscopy
  • Participate in home-call coverage and respond as needed
  • Perform neuraxial anesthesia including spinal and epidural techniques
  • Provide regional anesthesia and perioperative management across assigned cases

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual compensation of $340,000 (1099)

Job Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Active Texas CRNA licensure required
  • NBCRNA certification required (exam process acceptable)
  • Current ACLS and PALS certifications required
  • Comfort practicing independently at full scope, including OB and regional anesthesia
  • New graduates acceptable

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time position with start date of May 4, 2026
  • 3 weeks on / 1 week off rotation
  • Approximately 7 call days per month
  • Home-call model with low average OB volume
  • Independent CRNA-only practice at one hospital
