Program Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.

Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a RN in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and the State of New Jersey.

Cumulative undergraduate grade point average of at least 3.2.

A minimum of two years of current clinical critical care nursing experience. All critical care experience must be as an RN.
Emphasis is placed on knowledge of: invasive hemodynamic monitoring, pharmacological management of vasoactive drugs, and ventilator management. The preferred acute care areas are CVU (Cardiovascular/Cardiothoracic unit- Post operative cardiac patients), CCU (Critical Coronary/Cardiac Care), SICU (Surgical Intensive Care), MICU (Medical Intensive Care), NICU ( Neurological Intensive Care), or PICU/NICU (Pediatric or Neonatal Intensive Care). Applicants, whose primary experience is in the Emergency Room, Interventional Radiology, and PACU must demonstrate familiarity with invasive monitoring, ventilators, and critical care pharmacology.
