The Our Lady of the Lake College Nurse Anesthesia Program is a full-time Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) track that prepares registered nurses for advanced anesthesia practice through a combination of rigorous classroom instruction, high-fidelity simulation, and clinical immersion across affiliated hospitals in Louisiana. The curriculum emphasizes evidence-based care, patient-centered practice, and leadership development while exposing students to a broad range of perioperative experiences — including general, regional, obstetric, pediatric, and specialty anesthesia — through progressive clinical experiences that build depth of skill and clinical judgment. Graduates complete the program ready to sit for the National Certification Examination and enter CRNA practice with strong preparation across diverse clinical settings.

Program Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.

Current unrestricted licensure as a registered nurse in any state with eligibility for licensure in Louisiana.

Minimum of 1 year full-time experience as an RN in an adult intensive care unit (2 years preferred).

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher

Graduate Record Examination score of 290 or equivalent within five years prior to applying for the program.

Certifications: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse) is encouraged; required if you’re re-applying.
