Job Description
Vancouver Eye Care Surgery and Laser Center is seeking a part-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist to support a high-quality ophthalmology-focused outpatient surgery center. This position is well suited for CRNAs looking for predictable scheduling, focused case types, and a professional, low-stress work environment. The center operates on a limited number of scheduled surgery days per month, making this an excellent option for providers seeking flexible supplemental work or balanced part-time clinical practice.
Practice Environment
This is a CRNA-only anesthesia model with no medical direction. The facility is a well-established ophthalmology surgery center staffed by five comprehensive ophthalmologists and one oculoplastic surgeon. The center operates two operating rooms and maintains efficient workflows with experienced nursing and surgical staff.
Case Mix & Anesthesia Scope
- Ophthalmology procedures with emphasis on oculoplastic surgery
- MAC anesthesia for the majority of cases
- General anesthesia utilized as clinically indicated
- Outpatient surgery only
Schedule & Workload
- Part-time position
- Facility operates approximately 10 full surgical days per month
- No call responsibilities
- No weekends
- No holidays
- Predictable start and end times
Clinical Responsibilities
- Pre-anesthesia assessment and care planning
- Administration of MAC and general anesthesia as required
- Airway management appropriate for ophthalmic procedures
- Intraoperative monitoring and postoperative handoff
- Independent clinical decision-making within scope of practice
Compensation & Employment Structure
- Employment model: W-2 or 1099 (to be determined)
- Part-time compensation structure negotiable
- Sign-on bonus negotiable
- No call-related compensation needed due to no-call structure
Candidate Requirements
- Active Washington RN and CRNA licensure
- NBCRNA certification required
- ACLS required
- Comfort with outpatient ophthalmology anesthesia
- New graduates considered
