Job Description
Montefiore St. Luke’s Cornwall is seeking per diem Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join its hospital-based anesthesia team in Newburgh, New York. This PRN opportunity offers flexible scheduling with 8-, 10-, or 12-hour shifts and is well-suited for CRNAs looking for consistent per diem work within a collaborative, medically directed environment.
CRNAs in this role provide anesthesia services across a broad range of surgical and procedural settings, caring for patients of varying acuity levels throughout the lifespan. Preference is given to candidates with flexible availability who can support a dynamic hospital practice.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver anesthesia care for surgical, obstetrical, diagnostic, and therapeutic procedures
- Monitor patient response to anesthetic agents and intervene as clinically indicated
- Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists in a medically directed care model
- Assist in managing adverse events and escalating concerns to supervising physicians
- Prepare, check, and manage anesthesia equipment prior to patient care
- Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to hospital safety protocols
Compensation & Benefits
- Per diem W-2 rate: $185 per hour
- 1099 option available at $200–$220 per hour
- Time-and-a-half pay for hours worked beyond 40 in a week
- Malpractice insurance provided
Schedule & Work Environment

Job Requirements
- Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
- Active New York CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification
- Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
- Ability to work effectively in a medically directed hospital environment
