Job Description

The Anesthesia Group of Albany (AGA) is seeking full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) to join its long-established private practice serving the Albany/Capital District of New York. This is a definite, immediate-opening opportunity within one of the region’s largest and most experienced anesthesia groups, offering exceptional earning potential, a broad clinical scope, and long-term practice stability.

AGA has provided anesthesia services to one of Albany’s two major hospital centers and multiple ambulatory surgery facilities for more than 50 years. CRNAs in this role practice within a medically directed care team model, with anesthesiologists immediately available at all times. Providers may work in hospital-based settings, ambulatory surgery centers, endoscopy facilities, or a blend of environments depending on individual preference and clinical skill set.

The clinical case mix is diverse and includes orthopedic surgery, GI and endoscopy, pediatrics, cosmetic surgery, obstetrics, vascular, thoracic, neuro, and emergency cases. While all anesthetics are medically directed, CRNAs remain actively involved in patient care and case management throughout the perioperative period. Overnight call responsibilities are hospital-based in Albany, with weekday call extending until 10:00 PM and weekend call limited to emergency cases only.

This role offers multiple compensation pathways depending on call participation. Non–call-taking CRNAs working a 40-hour week earn at the lower end of the salary range, while call-taking CRNAs working approximately 50 hours per week can earn at the top of the range. Overtime hours above 40 per week are compensated at 200% of the base hourly rate. Call is shared evenly on a 1:8 rotation for both first and second call, with occasional post-call days off.

AGA is currently expanding services and seeking several motivated CRNAs interested in a high-volume, private-practice environment with strong earning upside, tuition assistance, relocation support, and a $100,000 sign-on/retention bonus with a three-year commitment.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care within a medically directed private practice model
• Participate in hospital-based and ambulatory surgical cases
• Assist with orthopedic, GI, pediatric, cosmetic, and emergency cases
• Take first and second call on a shared 1:8 rotation
• Maintain accurate documentation and patient safety standards

Compensation & Benefits

• $240,000–$525,000 annual compensation range based on schedule and call

Job Requirements

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• NBCRNA certification required
• Eligible for New York licensure
• Comfort working in a medically directed, call-taking environment
