Job Description

A locum tenens CRNA opportunity is available in South Dakota at a 60-bed hospital offering a flexible schedule, strong hourly compensation, and provided housing or stipend options. This position is within an all-CRNA practice model delivering anesthesia care across a broad range of surgical cases.

CRNAs will work in a collaborative environment with a balanced case mix and the option to participate in call. This role is ideal for providers seeking autonomy, flexibility, and a supportive team setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care for general, orthopedic, OB, and outpatient procedures
• Perform spinal anesthesia, regional blocks, and labor epidurals
• Manage anesthesia for C-sections and OB deliveries when on call
• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and develop care plans
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and ensure safe anesthesia delivery
• Collaborate within an all-CRNA team environment

Compensation & Benefits

• $250 per hour with 8-hour daily minimum
• Overtime paid at $265 per hour
• $400 weekday call beeper pay
• $1,800 for weekend 24-hour call coverage
• Call-back rate of $265 per hour with minimum guarantees
• Housing provided or housing stipend option
• Travel reimbursement including flights, rental car, and mileage
• $30 daily meal stipend
• 1099 independent contractor position

Job Requirements

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• Active or eligible South Dakota license
• Proficiency in spinal anesthesia, regional blocks, and epidurals
• OB experience required if participating in call
• Ability to work independently in an all-CRNA model

Schedule & Work Environment

• Assignment available immediately through end of May
• Flexible scheduling options including full coverage or 2–3 week rotations
• Typical schedule: 6:30 AM – 3:00 PM with 7:30 AM start times
• 5 CRNAs scheduled daily covering ORs and procedure rooms
• Facility runs 3 operating rooms plus 1 procedure room daily
• Average 20 cases per day with varied surgical volume
• Case mix includes general surgery, orthopedics, OB/GYN, ENT, urology, and ophthalmology
• Approximately 30–40 deliveries per month with 3–4 C-sections weekly
• Optional call schedule averaging 1:6 weeknights and weekends
• 20-minute call response time
• Post-call day off provided
• EMR system: Meditech
