Job Description

This full-time CRNA role at Southwest Health in Platteville, Wisconsin involves providing comprehensive anesthesia care before, during, and after surgical or medical procedures. The CRNA is responsible for patient assessment, anesthesia administration and maintenance, post-anesthesia recovery oversight, and documentation within the electronic medical record. This position requires a strong ability to stay focused, respond quickly to patient changes, and collaborate effectively with the medical team to ensure patient safety.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthesia assessments and prepare patients for anesthesia care.
• Administer and maintain various forms of anesthesia during procedures.
• Monitor patient response and ensure safety throughout the perioperative process.
• Manage post-anesthesia recovery and provide follow-up care.
• Document all anesthesia-related care in the EMR clearly and accurately.
• Collaborate with physicians and medical staff to support optimal patient outcomes.
• Respond effectively to emergent or rapidly evolving clinical situations.

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program.
• Current Wisconsin RN license and eligibility to practice as a CRNA in Wisconsin.
• Meets certification or recertification requirements through the NBCRNA.
• Malpractice insurance eligibility per institutional requirements.
• Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP.
• Knowledge of anesthesia equipment and monitoring systems.
• Preferred: basic computer skills.

Schedule & Work Environment

• Every ninth night first call; occasional post-call day off.
• No second call required.
