Job Description

Essentia Health – St. Mary’s Medical Center is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join a large, medically directed anesthesia team in Duluth, Minnesota. This position is based at a newly opened Level I Trauma Center and offers exposure to a high-acuity, diverse surgical environment within a collaborative, multispecialty health system.

CRNAs in this role work alongside anesthesiologists as part of a well-established care team supporting a wide range of surgical and procedural services. The position includes practice across multiple inpatient and outpatient locations and is open to both new graduates and experienced CRNAs.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care under a medically directed care team model
• Support anesthetizing locations across hospital and outpatient settings
• Deliver safe, patient-centered anesthesia services for diverse case types
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists, CRNAs, surgeons, and perioperative staff
• Maintain accurate and timely anesthesia documentation

Compensation & Benefits

• Estimated annual compensation range of $290,000 to $350,000
• W-2 employment status
• $100,000 sign-on bonus
• 12-month student stipend available for eligible candidates
• Moving expense reimbursement available

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program (Master’s or Doctorate)
• Current or eligible licensure as a CRNA in Minnesota
• NBCRNA certification or eligibility with exam completion within 12 months of graduation
• Current BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications
• Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time hospital-based anesthesia practice
• Practice locations include a Level I Trauma Center, outpatient surgery centers, and endoscopy facilities
• First and second call frequency varies by rotation
• Busy surgical schedule excluding transplants and pediatric heart cases
