Job Description

St. Mary’s Medical Center is hiring full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists to join a large, collaborative anesthesia team in Duluth, Minnesota. This opportunity places CRNAs in a newly opened Level I Trauma Center that began operations in July 2023, offering exposure to high-acuity cases within a modern, well-supported clinical environment.

This W-2 position is open to both experienced CRNAs and new graduates. Qualified candidates can earn up to $350,000 annually and are eligible for a substantial financial package that includes a $100,000 bonus and a 12-month student stipend for those who qualify. The anesthesia department consists of more than 45 CRNAs and 15 anesthesiologists working together in a medically directed model across multiple inpatient and outpatient facilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care within a medically directed team model
• Participate in high-acuity cases at a Level I Trauma Center
• Deliver anesthesia services across hospital, surgery center, and outpatient settings
• Support care in trauma, cardiac, thoracic, vascular, OB, neuro, orthopedic, and pediatric cases
• Assist with arterial line placement and perioperative patient management

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual compensation range: $290,000–$350,000
• $100,000 bonus opportunity

• St. Mary’s Hospital Superior, WI (2 ORs, 2 Endoscopy suites)
• Essentia Health–Duluth (11 ORs, majority outpatient)
• Outpatient Endoscopy Center

Case Mix

• Trauma and high-acuity surgical cases
• Cardiac, thoracic, and major vascular anesthesia
• Obstetrics and pediatrics
• Neuro and orthopedic surgery
• Outpatient and inpatient anesthesia services

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
• Eligible for Minnesota CRNA licensure
• NBCRNA certification or active examination process
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certification
• Ability to complete Essentia Health credentialing process
