Program Requirements
Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
A New York State R.N. license.
Minimum of two years of current critical care experience, which must be completed within the last three years by the time of application. This experience must be completed at one of the following: Surgical ICU, Medical ICU, or Cardio Thoracic ICU. Experience in the following settings are acceptable only if combined with one of the experiences listed above for a minimum of one year: Neonatal ICU, Pediatric ICU, Coronary ICU, or Neurosurgical.
Cumulative 3.0 is required, 3.3 is preferred.
Required Certifications: Critical Care Nurse (CCRN), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), last 3 must be issued from the American Heart Association.
A grade of C or better in the following undergraduate nursing courses: Statistics, Nursing Research, and Undergraduate Health/Physical Assessment Skills.
