Admission Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a regionally accredited institution or a Bachelor of Science in a related field.
- Licensure: Unencumbered license to practice nursing. Licensure in Indiana, Kentucky, and Illinois is required prior to clinical rotations.
- Experience: At least one full-time year of bedside Intensive Care Unit (ICU) experience within the last five years; two years preferred. Experience in Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU) or Operating Room (OR) is not considered applicable.
- Certifications: Current certifications in Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS).
- Academic Performance: Minimum undergraduate GPA of 3.0.
- Prerequisite Coursework: Completion of undergraduate courses in Statistics and Basic Chemistry (no lab required) within the past 10 years, with a minimum grade of ‘B’ or better.
- Shadowing Experience: Two separate shadowing experiences with a CRNA or Physician Anesthesiologist, with verification forms submitted.
- References: Three professional letters of reference, with at least one from a current employer or direct supervisor.
- Certification: Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification is required.
