The University of North Dakota Nurse Anesthesia Program is a full-time, 36-month Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) track offered through UND’s College of Nursing and Professional Disciplines that prepares registered nurses for advanced anesthesia practice and eligibility to sit for the National Certification Examination. Accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), the curriculum blends rigorous didactic coursework with early and sustained clinical immersion at a broad network of affiliate sites throughout North Dakota and neighboring states, exposing students to general, regional, obstetric, pediatric, and specialty anesthesia care. UND’s program emphasizes evidence-based practice, simulation training, professional leadership, and interprofessional collaboration, and intentionally admits a small cohort each year to foster close faculty mentorship and strong preparation for independent practice.
