School Information Updated February, 2026

The University of South Carolina School of Medicine Columbia Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice (DNAP) program is a 36-month, full-time track that blends online foundational coursework with hands-on clinical experiences and high-fidelity simulation training to prepare students for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) practice. One distinctive feature is that the first two semesters are delivered online in collaboration with USC’s College of Nursing, giving students early flexibility before transitioning to on-campus and clinical immersion at Prisma Health Richland, Prisma Health Greenville Memorial, and other regional affiliate sites. The program’s long history of nurse anesthesia education and personalized, small-cohort environment supports students as they develop advanced anesthesia skills across a range of patient populations and perioperative settings.
