Job Description
UPMC East Side Surgery Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a locum tenens assignment. This role offers a consistent daytime schedule in a modern ambulatory surgery center with a collaborative anesthesia care team.
CRNAs will work under a medical direction model, providing anesthesia care exclusively for outpatient procedures. This position is ideal for experienced providers seeking a predictable schedule with no call responsibilities and a focused case mix.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for outpatient surgical procedures
- Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop care plans
- Monitor patients throughout procedures to ensure safety and stability
- Provide post-anesthesia care and recovery management
- Collaborate with anesthesiologists and surgical teams
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
Compensation & Benefits
- $1,700 per day or approximately $215 per hour
- 1099 independent contractor structure

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Eligible for Pennsylvania state licensure
- Experience required; new graduates not accepted
- Ability to work within a medical direction model
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens 1099 position
- Start date June 1
- Monday through Friday schedule
- 7:00 AM to 3:00 PM (8-hour shifts)
- Minimum of 12 shifts per month
- No call, nights, weekends, or holiday requirements
- Ambulatory surgery center with four operating rooms
- Outpatient case mix including urology, orthopedics, plastic surgery, and ophthalmology
- Medical direction anesthesia care team model
