School Information Updated February, 2026

The Albany Medical College Center for Nurse Anesthesiology offers a full-time, 36-month Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) track accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA), with the latest 10-year accreditation cycle extending through 2029. The program typically admits a selective cohort of around 25 students per year and requires completion of approximately 112 credit hours, preparing graduates to sit for the National Certification Examination. With a curriculum that blends advanced didactic anesthesia sciences, simulation training, and progressive clinical immersion, students gain hands-on perioperative experience within the Albany Med Health System — the region’s only state-designated Level I trauma center — and affiliated clinical sites, developing broad competence in general, regional, obstetric, pediatric, and specialty anesthesia care.
