Job Description

Amberwell Atchison is seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its all-CRNA anesthesia team at a critical access hospital in Atchison, Kansas. This position offers the opportunity to practice independently while providing anesthesia care for a wide range of bread-and-butter surgical cases in a supportive environment.

The practice includes general surgery, orthopedic procedures, GI, OB/GYN, podiatry, ENT, and cataract cases. CRNAs work closely with surgeons and hospital staff while practicing to the full extent of their training in a collaborative rural healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct pre-anesthetic evaluations and develop anesthesia care plans
• Administer anesthesia for surgical and procedural cases
• Provide intraoperative monitoring and adjust anesthesia levels as needed
• Deliver post-anesthesia care and follow-up assessments
• Perform regional anesthesia techniques including spinals and epidurals
• Insert arterial lines and assist with central line placement when required
• Collaborate with surgeons and healthcare teams to ensure safe patient care

Compensation & Benefits

• Base salary approximately $260,000 annually
• $38,000 annual call stipend for eight call days per month
• Additional call opportunities available for extra compensation
• Quality performance bonus up to $10,000 annually

• Overtime pay available for hours exceeding 40 per week

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia program
• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• NBCRNA certification required
• Active Kansas RN and CRNA licensure or eligibility
• Current ACLS and PALS certifications
• Regional anesthesia experience preferred but not required
• New graduates welcome

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time W-2 hospital-employed position
• Monday through Friday schedule with call rotation
• First call approximately every fourth night
• Independent all-CRNA practice model
• Team includes four full-time CRNAs and one part-time CRNA
