Program Requirements
- Educational Background:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or a prelicensure Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) from an accredited program and an accredited college or university.
- Licensure:
- Unencumbered license as a registered professional nurse in the United States or its territories. An unencumbered Georgia nursing license is required prior to enrollment.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year of recent full-time work experience, or its part-time equivalent, as a registered nurse in a critical care setting prior to enrollment.
- Academic Performance:
- Minimum overall undergraduate GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications.
Additional Program Features
- Accreditation: The Nursing Anesthesia program is accredited by the Council on Accreditation of Nurse Anesthesia Educational Programs (COA) and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education (CCNE).
- Clinical Experience: Students administer on average more than 800 anesthetics over at least 2,000 clinical hours, gaining experience with pediatric and adult patients across various surgical specialties.
