Job Description

Weber State University’s Annie Taylor Dee School of Nursing is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) for a full-time faculty appointment with additional responsibilities as Assistant Program Director within the nurse anesthesia program. This 12-month W-2 position may be hired as either tenure-track or instructor level depending on qualifications, with future opportunity to transition into tenure-track status.

The role combines active teaching responsibilities with academic leadership duties, helping guide curriculum development, student progression, accreditation efforts, and clinical education management within the CRNA program.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide didactic, simulation, and clinical instruction within the nurse anesthesia program
  • Support curriculum development, evaluation, and program assessment activities
  • Participate in faculty development and annual faculty evaluations
  • Manage student clinical rotations and ensure specialty case requirements are achieved
  • Serve as liaison between clinical agencies and Weber State University
  • Oversee evaluation of clinical sites and preceptors
  • Conduct annual clinical site visits and maintain clinical records
  • Manage electronic case tracking systems such as Typhon
  • Identify clinical performance concerns and coordinate remediation plans
  • Assist with accreditation compliance and regulatory reporting
  • Participate in strategic planning, governance committees, and admissions activities
  • Support student recruitment, interviews, retention, and orientation
  • Assume leadership responsibilities during the Program Director’s absence as required by COA standards

Job Requirements

  • Doctoral degree required
  • Graduate of an accredited CRNA nursing program
  • Minimum two years of CRNA experience required
  • Current CRNA clinical practice required
  • Active Utah APRN license or eligibility for licensure in Utah
  • Basic technology proficiency including Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, Zoom, and database navigation
  • Background check required

Preferred Qualifications

  • Higher education teaching experience
  • Strong communication and project management skills
  • Experience integrating simulation technology into nursing education
  • Knowledge of COA standards, policies, and procedures
