Job Description

The New Mexico VA Healthcare System (NMVAHCS) in Albuquerque is actively seeking a full-time Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA). This role offers the opportunity to work within a collegial team environment while participating in academic responsibilities through its affiliation with the University of New Mexico. Ideal for CRNAs seeking to balance clinical and academic pursuits in a rewarding federal healthcare setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide anesthesia care to veterans in a hospital setting
• Collaborate with anesthesiologists and rotating anesthesia residents, medical students, and SRNAs
• Participate in teaching and academic activities as part of the VA’s educational mission
• Maintain clinical excellence and contribute to a supportive, team-based environment

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary range: $150,000 – $240,000 (based on experience)
• Federal pension and 401(k) with up to 5% VA match
• Comprehensive federal benefits package (health, dental, vision, life, long-term care)
• Up to 55 days of annual paid leave (includes vacation, sick time, federal holidays, CME leave)

Job Requirements

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• Eligible for federal employment and credentialing through the VA
• Academic interest and ability to contribute to teaching preferred
