Job Description

ECAA is seeking a full-time CRNA to join its new partnership with ECU Health Duplin Hospital, an 81-bed rural medical center in Kenansville, North Carolina. This role offers a high level of autonomy within a collaborative care team, a strong mix of bread-and-butter cases, and one of the most competitive compensation packages in the state. CRNAs provide comprehensive anesthesia care across three main ORs, supporting general surgery, orthopedics, ENT, OB-GYN, eyes, dental, and healthy pediatric cases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct pre-anesthesia patient evaluations, exams, and medical histories
  • Develop and implement individualized anesthetic plans with anesthesiologist oversight
  • Administer anesthesia using a variety of techniques, including spinals, intubations, and arterial line placement
  • Monitor vital signs, anesthetic depth, and overall patient status throughout procedures
  • Adjust anesthetic plans intraoperatively to optimize patient safety and outcomes
  • Provide post-operative monitoring and management to ensure safe recovery
  • Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nursing staff, and other team members

Compensation & Benefits

  • High starting base salary of nearly $300,000 with additional call incentives

Job Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist with current CRNA certification
  • Eligibility for North Carolina licensure as a CRNA
  • Competence in general anesthetic techniques, including spinals, intubations, and arterial lines
  • Ability to manage a broad range of bread-and-butter surgical cases
  • Strong communication skills and comfort working in a rural hospital setting

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time, exempt W-2 position
  • Monday–Friday schedule, 6:30 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
  • Urgent and emergent cases performed from 3:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • Call is shared equally and rotated among three CRNAs; CRNA is first call, MD/DO is backup
  • OR covered daily by two CRNAs and one anesthesiologist, Monday through Friday
  • Approximately 27,000 patients served per year and an average of 175 anesthetics per month
