Job Description

Millinocket Regional Hospital, a 25-bed Critical Access Hospital in northern Maine, is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its 3-member anesthesia team. This is a full-time, independent practice role with a unique 2-weeks-on / 1-week-off schedule and a strong focus on work-life balance in a beautiful outdoor recreation area.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia to patients of all ages in the OR and other care areas, following hospital policies and procedures.
• Provide independent anesthesia care across a broad case mix including general surgery, orthopedics, urology, healthy pediatrics, pain management, podiatry, and endoscopy.
• Perform and manage spinals, epidurals, and gain exposure to ultrasound-guided regional blocks.
• Participate fully in anesthesia call coverage (first call every night within the rotation schedule).

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual salary: $230,000.

Job Requirements

• Current State of Maine RN license.
• NBCRNA certification (current or recertified).
• BCLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required.
• Experience with spinals and epidurals preferred; willingness to learn ultrasound-guided regional blocks.
• Ability to remain calm and effective in stressful or emergent situations.
• Strong patient care and customer service skills.

Schedule & Work Environment

• OR operates Monday–Thursday.
• Week One: Call shifts Mon, Thu, Fri, Sat, Sun.
• Week Two: Call shifts Tue and Wed.
• Week Three: Off starting Thursday afternoon.
• Every night first call during active weeks.
• No anesthesiologist supervision; independent CRNA practice model.
