Job Description
New London Hospital is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its autonomous, all-CRNA anesthesia department at a critical access hospital. This is a full-time W-2 hospital-employed position offering true independent practice, full scope anesthesia, and a highly respected role within the medical staff.
Practice Model
This is a fully independent, CRNA-only anesthesia practice. CRNAs function as full members of the Medical Staff with voting privileges and practice without medical direction. The anesthesia department maintains strong interdisciplinary collaboration across surgery, nursing, and perioperative services.
Case Mix & Clinical Scope
- Orthopedic surgery, including total joint arthroplasty
- Neurospine
- Urology
- General surgery
- Endoscopy
- Pain procedures
- Patients age 16 and older only
Schedule & Call
- 4-day work week
- 1:5 call rotation
- Post-call day off or first-out
- Very low callback volume
- 60-minute callback radius
Clinical Responsibilities
- Independent pre-anesthesia evaluation and care planning
- Administration of general, regional, and neuraxial anesthesia
- Spinal anesthesia and peripheral nerve blocks
- Occasional arterial and central line placement
- Pre-anesthesia testing clinic participation
- Mentorship of Nurse Anesthesia Residents
Compensation & Benefits
- Base salary: $300,000–$320,000
- Approximately $20,000+ annual call pay
- 10 weeks paid vacation
- W-2 hospital employment
- 403(b) retirement with 4% employer contribution + 2% match
- $3,000 annual CME allowance
- Professional licenses, dues, and NBCRNA recertification covered
- Tuition reimbursement available for advanced education

Candidate Requirements
- Active New Hampshire CRNA license
- NBCRNA certification required
- ACLS and PALS required
- Regional anesthesia experience preferred
- Independent practice experience preferred but not required
- New graduates considered conditionally
