Job Description
A high-demand locum tenens CRNA opportunity is available in Illinois offering strong hourly compensation, flexible scheduling blocks, and no call responsibilities. This assignment is designed for providers seeking consistent work in a high-acuity, high-volume environment with predictable weekday hours.
CRNAs will work within a supervised care team model managing a mix of trauma and bread-and-butter cases. This position is ideal for experienced providers comfortable working with complex patient populations.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide anesthesia care for Level 1 trauma and general surgical cases
- Manage bread-and-butter cases including orthopedics
- Support high-acuity patients in a fast-paced environment
- Perform pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop care plans
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and ensure safe anesthesia delivery
- Work collaboratively within a physician-supervised model
Compensation & Benefits
- $250 per hour
- $1,200 stipend or full travel reimbursements
- 1099 independent contractor position
- Overtime paid after 50 hours
- Travel covered including flights, lodging, rental car or mileage
- No call and no weekend requirements
Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Illinois license required at submission
- Board Certified required
- Current ACLS, BLS, and PALS certifications
- Comfortable working in a supervised care team model (1:2 or 1:3)
- Experience with trauma and high-acuity patients preferred
Schedule & Work Environment
- Assignment length: 4-month blocks scheduled throughout the year
- Flexible schedule: 1–2 weeks per month
- Monday through Friday schedule with 5×10-hour shifts (50 hours/week)
- Occasional overtime available
- No call responsibilities
- High-volume Level 1 trauma facility
- Case mix includes trauma, general surgery, orthopedics, and optional OB or cardiac exposure
- All age ranges treated
- EMR system: Epic
- Emergency privileges available within 3–4 weeks
- Multiple start dates and ongoing coverage needs
