Job Description
A locum tenens opportunity is available for Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) in Illinois, located approximately 2.5 hours south of Chicago. This assignment offers ongoing coverage with flexible scheduling and a diverse clinical case mix in a supervised anesthesia model.
CRNAs will provide anesthesia services for a combination of bread and butter, orthopedic, and Level 1 trauma cases. This role is ideal for providers seeking high daily rates, no call responsibilities, and a steady locum assignment with flexible shift options.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer anesthesia for a variety of surgical cases including orthopedics and trauma
- Perform pre-anesthesia assessments and develop care plans
- Place epidurals and spinal anesthesia when proficient
- Monitor patients throughout procedures and ensure safety
- Provide post-anesthesia recovery care
- Collaborate within a supervised anesthesia care team model
- Document cases using EPIC EMR system
Compensation & Benefits
- $2,400 to $2,600 per day
- 1099 independent contractor structure

Job Requirements
- Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
- Active Illinois license or ability to obtain
- NBCRNA certification required
- Current ACLS and PALS certifications
- Experience with regional anesthesia preferred
- Ability to work in a supervised care model
- Familiarity with EPIC EMR preferred
Schedule & Work Environment
- Locum tenens 1099 position
- Immediate start available
- Flexible shifts: 5x10s, 5x8s, or 12-hour shifts
- No call, nights, or weekend requirements
- Supervision model with 1:2 or 1:3 ratios
- Case mix includes Level 1 trauma, orthopedics, and general surgery
- Optional exposure to OB, cardiac, and pediatrics if experienced
