Job Description

Bitterroot Health is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join its independent practice team in Hamilton, Montana. This full-time opportunity offers a highly competitive compensation package with shared call responsibilities and a broad variety of surgical cases in a supportive and collegial environment. CRNAs practice independently and provide comprehensive anesthesia care across multiple specialties including obstetrics, orthopedics, general surgery, ophthalmology, podiatry, neurosurgery, urology, and ENT procedures.

Key Responsibilities

• Administer anesthesia and anesthesia-related care independently
• Perform pre-anesthetic evaluations and post-anesthesia care
• Manage anesthesia induction, maintenance, and emergence
• Provide peri-anesthetic and clinical support functions
• Participate in shared first-call rotation every fifth night
• Administer spinal anesthesia, epidurals, and regional anesthesia blocks
• Insert arterial lines and occasional central venous catheters
• Work collaboratively with a team of six full-time CRNAs

Compensation & Benefits

• Annual compensation ranging from $320,000 – $340,000
• Sign-on bonus available
• 9 weeks vacation plus 1 week CME

Job Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited nurse anesthesia educational program
• Current NBCRNA certification required
• Current Montana CRNA license required
• Current BCLS, ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required
• Independent practice experience required
• Critical Access Hospital experience preferred
• Minimum three years of anesthesia experience in an acute care setting preferred
• New graduates not accepted

Schedule & Work Environment

• Full-time W-2 position
• Operating room hours typically 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
• Shared first-call rotation every fifth night
• No second-call responsibilities
• Every sixth week assigned to neurosurgery with Friday off
• Independent CRNA practice model
• Cases include OB, pediatrics, neuro, orthopedic, trauma, and regional anesthesia
