Job Description

Adventist Health Ukiah Valley is seeking an experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to join an autonomous anesthesia practice serving a small community hospital in Northern California. This is a full-time 1099 opportunity offering complete clinical independence, flexible scheduling, and the option to work as little as two weeks per month while maintaining full-time status.

The anesthesia team is a mix of anesthesiologists and CRNAs, with all providers managing their own cases without medical direction or supervision. The case mix includes general surgery, GI, orthopedics, podiatry, urology, ophthalmology, gynecology, pacemakers, and cardioversions. There are no open hearts or neuro cases. Peripheral nerve blocks are a plus but not required. OB coverage is available for those with recent experience and interest.

Scheduling is highly flexible, with guaranteed shifts and multiple rotation options including stacked schedules and fixed rotations (e.g., 1 week on/1 week off or 2 weeks on/2 weeks off). Call is taken from home and averages approximately three hours of work per call shift. Housing is available for commuting providers, including a furnished two-bedroom home with a pool located close to the hospital and downtown Ukiah.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent anesthesia care without medical direction
  • Manage cases including general surgery, GI, orthopedics, urology, eyes, and gynecology
  • Participate in home call coverage with defined expectations
  • Perform regional anesthesia techniques as needed or preferred
  • Deliver safe, high-quality anesthesia care in a community hospital setting

Compensation & Benefits

  • Annual earning potential of $320,000–$475,000

Job Requirements

  • Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
  • Active California CRNA licensure required
  • NBCRNA certification required
  • Current ACLS certification required
  • Comfort practicing independently in a community hospital setting

Schedule & Work Environment

  • Full-time locum-style 1099 position
  • Minimum monthly commitment: 10 day shifts, 5 weeknight calls, and 1 weekend call
  • Call taken from home with low average callback hours
  • Flexible rotations and stacked scheduling available
