Program Requirements
- Educational Background: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from a nationally accredited institution.
- Licensure:
- Current, unencumbered Registered Nurse (RN) license in the United States.
- Wisconsin license or Enhanced Nurse Licensure Compact (eNLC) license required at the time of admission.
- Experience:
- Minimum of one year, preferably two years, of full-time work experience (excluding orientation) as a registered nurse in a critical care setting within the United States by the application deadline.
- Critical care experience includes settings such as surgical intensive care, cardiothoracic intensive care, coronary intensive care, medical intensive care, pediatric intensive care, and neonatal intensive care.
- Academic Performance: Minimum cumulative BSN GPA and science GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale.
- Certifications:
- Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS)
- Prerequisite Coursework:
- Undergraduate courses in health assessment, nursing research, and statistics (including inferential analysis). The statistics course must be completed within five years of the program start date. If this timeframe has been exceeded, an approved statistics course must be completed prior to admission.
