Job Description

Northern Navajo Medical Center is seeking a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) to provide anesthesia care in a government facility located in Shiprock, New Mexico. This is a full-time position within the Division of Clinical Services, Medical Services Branch/Anesthesiology. The CRNA will provide anesthetic agents and supportive treatments to patients undergoing a large variety of surgical, therapeutic, and diagnostic procedures in a well-established facility that serves the Navajo Nation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct preoperative patient assessments to determine the degree of risk involved in planned procedures.
  • Administer and manage general anesthesia using rectal, parenteral, or inhalation routes with or without endotracheal intubation or laryngeal mask airway.
  • Provide immediate post-anesthetic care, including airway maintenance, ventilation, and oxygenation.
  • Monitor patient responses during and after anesthesia and adjust treatments as needed.
  • Participate in the retrospective evaluation of the quality of anesthesia care.

Job Requirements

  • Active Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA) certification
  • Master’s or Doctoral degree in Nurse Anesthesia from an accredited program
  • Active licensure as a CRNA in the United States
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS) certifications required
  • Strong clinical judgment and critical thinking skills
