A medical facility in the Jacksonville, North Carolina area is seeking experienced Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNAs) for an ongoing part-time or full-time opportunity focused exclusively on gastrointestinal (GI) procedures. This is a definite position offering a predictable daytime schedule, strong hourly compensation, and the flexibility to work as little as two days or as many as five days per week.

This role is structured as a 1099 independent contractor position and is ideal for CRNAs who prefer a streamlined outpatient environment with early finishes and no call responsibilities. Clinical days typically begin at 7:00 or 8:00 a.m. and conclude around 1:00 p.m., allowing providers to maintain an excellent work-life balance while still earning competitive daily compensation.

CRNAs in this role will independently provide anesthesia care for GI cases in a collaborative, efficient setting. The practice emphasizes patient safety, smooth case flow, and high-quality care, supported by experienced gastroenterologists and nursing staff. Providers are expected to manage all phases of anesthesia care, including pre-anesthesia assessments, intraoperative management, and post-anesthesia recovery.

Compensation is highly competitive, with a per diem rate of up to $1,500 per day and an hourly equivalent of approximately $190 per hour. CRNAs must carry their own malpractice insurance, as no additional benefits are provided with this per diem role. This opportunity is well-suited for CRNAs seeking flexible, long-term outpatient work in a coastal North Carolina community.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide independent anesthesia care for outpatient GI procedures
• Conduct pre-anesthesia evaluations and develop individualized anesthesia plans
• Monitor patients throughout procedures and adjust anesthetic care as needed
• Ensure safe emergence and post-anesthesia recovery
• Maintain accurate and complete anesthesia documentation

Job Requirements

• Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
• Active or eligible North Carolina RN licensure
• Experience with GI anesthesia preferred
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Ability to work independently and carry personal malpractice insurance
