Program Requirements

Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.

Must hold a current RN license in the state of Missouri (if you live outside Missouri and you are accepted, you will need to get a current RN license in Missouri before classes begin).

A minimum of one year of experience in an acute-care setting (2 years is preferred). The most competitive applicants will have 1.5 or more years ICU experience in adult care. Unless a significant amount of your acute care experience was in an ICU setting, you will not be considered a competitive applicant.

Cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher on a 4.0 scale for undergraduate studies, or evidence of outstanding postgraduate academic achievement. Must have a grade of B or higher in all science courses. If there are science courses you scored lower than a B in, it is recommended that you retake those courses.

Required Certifications: CCRN (Critical Care Registered Nurse), BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiac Life Support), and PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) is strongly recommended, but not required.

The following classes are not required, however, to be a competitive applicant, it is strongly recommended that you have taken at least two of these science classes and received a B or higher within the last 8 years: Chemistry, Organic Chemistry, Bio Chemistry, or Physics.
