Hi All,
I am so excited because I have my first interview for a CRNA program coming up :)))) I’m really excited, but also, very nervous. I have been told to not “get my hopes up”, since getting in on your first try can be difficult. I am most worried about the questions they are going to ask me. I am hoping that some current CRNA’s or current students can give me some perspective on the type of questions I can expect to field in my interview? Is is common for them to ask scenario or case related questions?
Congrats to you! In my experience (CRNA for 3 years now) with the interview processes (went on 3) you will be asked the obvious: Why do you want to be a CRNA… and then (again, speaking from my personal experience), you will be asked about yourself, strengths and weaknesses, and challenging cases you have had. They will also likely try to test your knowledge of physiology, pathophysiology and pharmacology in some way.
The best you can do is be confident, and prepared for demonstrating your Critical Care knowledge and experience. This is why it’s best to have more than just a single year of CC under your belt. Schools and Programs are highly competitive, most of the applicants they receive have similar qualifications, and the spots each year are limited. Do your best to stick out. Best of luck to you.
